Who I am

Laurence Simmonds Videography is run by Laurence Simmonds, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. If you have any questions about this policy, email [email protected].

What I collect

When you send an inquiry: your name, email address, and anything you choose to tell me, such as your date, location, budget and message.

When you book a call: the booking service (Cal.com) collects your name, email address and the time you choose.

Why I collect it

To reply to your inquiry and, if we work together, to plan and deliver your film. I don’t sell your details, and I won’t add you to a mailing list without asking.

Where it’s kept

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. When you send an inquiry, Cloudflare passes it straight to my email account (Gmail), where it’s kept; the website itself doesn’t store it. Bookings are handled by Cal.com. Films are hosted on YouTube and Vimeo, and the Home and Links pages show my latest TikTok posts.

These services may store data outside your country. Each has its own privacy policy.

How long I keep it

Inquiries that don’t go ahead are deleted after 12 months. Records for clients are kept for as long as US tax rules require, usually up to 7 years.

Analytics, cookies and videos

This site doesn’t set cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or follow you to other websites. Like any website, Cloudflare sees basic technical details such as your IP address and browser in order to show you the pages and keep the site safe from attacks.

The muted showreel at the top of the Home page plays from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player when the page opens. Other videos from Vimeo and YouTube only load when you press play, using their privacy-enhanced players. The TikTok feeds on the Home and Links pages load from TikTok when you scroll to them, and TikTok’s privacy policy covers them. The TikTok photos on my portfolio are hosted on this site and only link to TikTok.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you at any time by emailing [email protected]. If you’re in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
